The Necessity of Evasion and Obscurancy in Contemporary Music

It's my belief (as a working class composer) that the evasive and obscurantist tendencies in recent music in both the complex/atonal and tonal/post-minimalist camps is inherently a by-product of 30 years of upper class domination. It's necessary for the fluidity of careerism that nothing memorable be transmitted, that any allowable poignancies be explicable as by-products of processes and that the career be the thing, not the content.
